We Are Usually Asked About

Students are eligible for the road test after completing the following:
  • A certified driver education course.
  • After completing the number of driving practice hours violation free.
  • After completing the required waiting period.

No, we do not provide transportation to class or to and from the behind-the-wheel lessons.

The course consists of 30 hours of classroom and 6 hours of behind the wheel training. Classes run 3 hours a day Monday through Friday for 2 weeks and the driving is done in three 2 hour lessons.

Students under the age of 25 must complete at least 60 hours of practice with a parent/adult coach who is over 21 and has held a license for at least 3 years.


Students over the age of 25 must complete a minimum of 14 hours of practice with another adult who is over 21 years of age and has held a license for at least 3 years.

Students under the age of 25 must carry a valid learner’s permit for at least 9 months violation free before they are eligible for the MVA road test to obtain a provisional driver’s license.


Students over 25 years of age, must carry a learner’s permit for at least 45 days violation free before they are eligible for the MVA road test to obtain a provisional driver’s license.

Individuals wishing to obtain a learner’s permit must be at least 15 years and 9 month old to receive a learner’s permit from the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration.

No, a learner’s is not required to attend classes at Beltway Driving Academy. However, the behind the wheel portion of the class cannot begin until you receive a learner’s permit.

Students must be at least 15 years old to attend driver’s Education classes.

No, the driving school has MVA approved vehicles that will be used for all driving lessons.
